Former Kaduna state governor, Nasir El-Rufai has taken to social media to express concern, following the ruling of the Supreme Court with regards to the prohibition of state governors from utilizing the funds that are meant for the 774 Local Government Areas (LGAs) in the country.

Recall that the Supreme Court led by Justice Emmanuel Agim had on Thursday, granted financial autonomy to the 774 Local Government Areas in the country, by banning all 36 governors from using funds that are designated for all the LGAs.

The court also declared it illegal and unconstitutional for state governors to receive, tamper or withhold such funds, adding that such practice is a violation of section 162 of the 1999 Constitution.
