Samaila Kaigama, President of the Borno South Youth Alliance, has alleged that state governments play a significant role in Nigeria’s insecurity, insisting that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu should not be blamed for the country’s security challenges.
Speaking during an interview from 6:48 on Channels Television on Tuesday, 21 July, 2026, Kaigama distanced himself from partisan politics, saying his comments were based on his personal experience and understanding of the security situation.
He argued that the root causes of insecurity extend beyond the Federal Government, alleging that some state governments benefit from the crisis. His comments come amid continued public debate over the responsibilities of federal and state authorities in tackling insecurity.
