According to a report by Punch Newspaper on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, popular Fuji musician Saheed Okunola, widely known as Saheed Osupa, has said he genuinely makes use of voodoo in his personal life as part of what he believes has helped him find success and move forward.
He made the disclosure while performing at the 52nd-year celebration of veteran actor Fatai Odua, popularly called Lalude.
The performance took place during the celebration held for the veteran actor, where Osupa mounted the stage and entertained the audience.
A video from the event later gained attention online, drawing interest because of what the Fuji singer said while performing before the crowd.
In the trending clip, Osupa was seen addressing his backup singers during the live performance after noticing that they were not matching the pace of his delivery.
He told them to turn to voodoo as a way of helping them remember their lines and keep up with the rhythm of the performance.
He went further to explain the kind of items they were expected to take, making it clear that, in his view, the practice was not meant to make them fetish.
According to him, it was only something that could support their personal well-being and help them function better in their work.
Osupa also said that at some point, someone had advised him to publicly deny ever using supernatural powers, often referred to as juju.
He said he refused to follow that advice, insisting that he saw no reason to hide what he believes in or misrepresent himself to the public.
The Fuji star maintained that he had never used such powers for evil or harmed anyone through them.
He said his use of voodoo was only connected to his desire to progress in life and continue improving his circumstances and career.
He added that he would not deny what he considers part of his own experience, saying the practice had nothing to do with wrongdoing.
