In a post shared on his X (formerly Twitter) handle on Monday, April 6, 2026, Sani argued that the peace talks between the U.S. and Iran are not centered on nuclear weapons, as widely perceived, but rather on restoring access to the Strait of Hormuz, a critical global oil transit route.
According to him, the negotiations are primarily aimed at ensuring the reopening and security of the strait, which has become a flashpoint in the ongoing crisis. Sani further claimed that Donald Trump is using the negotiations as a calculated strategy to disengage the United States from the conflict without appearing to retreat outright.
“The peace talks between the U.S. and Iran are about the Strait, not nuclear weapons; Trump wants to quietly pull out of the war,” Sani wrote.
His remarks highlight a growing perspective that Washington may be seeking a limited agreement to secure key economic and strategic interests, while avoiding deeper entanglement in a prolonged regional conflict.
The comments come amid heightened global attention on the crisis, as uncertainty continues to surround the outcome of negotiations and the potential implications for stability in the Middle East. Read_More…
