In a recent interview from 25:47 on Symfoni TV, Olademiji Fabiyi spoke on the electoral prospects of southern presidential candidates in the upcoming elections.

During the interview, Fabiyi stated, “Let me tell you today, no southern candidate can be able to defeat President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.” He used the statement to underscore what he described as the entrenched political influence of the incumbent president and the challenges any southern candidate would face in mounting a successful nationwide campaign.

Fabiyi explained that while southern politicians have strong regional bases, the current political landscape heavily favors Tinubu due to his established networks, alliances, and support across northern and central states. According to him, this dynamic makes it difficult for a candidate from the southern region to secure the broad-based appeal necessary to win the presidency.
