Danladi Isah, a resident of Olowa community in Kogi State, has narrated how residents rushed to the scene after hearing gunshots during the attack on Government Secondary School, Odo-Ekina, only to discover that the bandits had already fled with some of their victims.
Speaking during an interview from 7:13 on News Central TV on Thursday, 16 July, 2026, Isah recounted the events that unfolded during the abduction, saying members of the community immediately responded after hearing gunfire. However, by the time they arrived at the school, the attackers had escaped into the surrounding bush.
Describing the incident, he said, “Before we could get to that place, they had gone. And we started tracing their footprint but we could not see them again. Not quite long, we wee still there. We now saw some students running out of the bush.”
