The Special Adviser on Media and Policy Communications to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Daniel Bwala, has alleged that efforts were made to recruit individuals to publicly oppose him following recent political controversies.
Speaking during an interview from 0:42 on News Central TV, Bwala said he was informed by certain individuals that they were approached to participate in campaigns aimed at discrediting him. His remarks come amid ongoing debates about coordinated narratives and the role of influencers and bloggers in Nigeria’s political space.
The controversy is linked to reactions that trailed his appearance in a widely discussed interview involving Mehdi Hasan, which drew mixed responses across political and media circles. Bwala maintained that the criticisms directed at him cut across different political divides, suggesting a broader pattern of opposition.
According to him, “Two prominent people have called me and told me how they were contacted to go against me, and they turned down.” This thing was wide; it was wide.
