In a video shared by Channels Television, Vice President Kashim Shettima stated that he admires Rwandan President Paul Kagame and the economic progress made by Rwanda, Seychelles and Botswana.
However, Shettima said that Botswana’s population is not more than that of Shomolu Local Government Area in Lagos State, while Seychelles has a population smaller than that of two wards in Kano metropolis.
Shettima said Rwanda’s population is about half that of Lagos State. He stated that population size matters when comparing countries and added that, despite its challenges, Nigeria remains a great nation because of its scale and potential.
In Shettima’s words: “People celebrate Rwanda, I adore Paul Kagame. People talk about Seychelles, yes their economy has turned the corner. But what is the population of Botswana? It is not more than Shomolu local government area of Lagos State. What is the population of Seychelles? Not more than 2 wards in Kano metropolis.
