‎According to a report by The Sun, on Thursday May 14, 2026, Senator representing Edo North, Adams Oshiomhole, has stated that internal disagreements among opposition politicians will weaken any coalition against President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 general elections.

‎He stated that the opposition is already divided and lacks a clear, united direction that can challenge the ruling party effectively, according to him, these divisions will make it difficult for them to convince Nigerians ahead of the next election.

‎Oshiomhole argued that opposition leaders must move beyond personal attacks and focus on clear policy alternatives if they want to remain credible, he said voters are more interested in what the opposition plans to do differently, not in political rivalry among its leaders.

‎He added that the opposition has not clearly explained whether it would reverse key government decisions such as taxation reforms, fuel subsidy removal, and student loan programmes introduced under President Bola Tinubu’s administration, he warned that without addressing these policy questions, opposition parties will struggle to gain public trust.

‎The former APC national chairman stated that ongoing disagreements among opposition figures are making any coalition effort weak and unconvincing, he added that public disputes among leading opposition politicians only reduce their chances of presenting a strong alternative government.

‎Oshiomhole maintained that such a situation will ultimately favour President Bola Tinubu in 2027, as a divided opposition cannot mount a serious challenge.
