During an interview from 25:15 on Channels Television, Babachir Lawal, a former SGF, criticised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, commenting on his leadership style and public perception.

Lawal said the President appears to project an image of strategic superiority, alleging that those around him often reinforce that perception. He argued that such praise may be influencing decision-making at the highest level of government.

He also referenced former President Muhammadu Buhari, suggesting that some advisers may have encouraged Tinubu to align closely with Buhari in a bid to gain sympathy or political support from Northern voters. According to him, this approach has not resonated as intended.

Lawal maintained that such actions could have unintended consequences, particularly when communicated publicly, adding that political messaging should be more measured and reflective of broader national sentiments.

According to him, “You should know Bola now, he’s is somebody that likes to think that he’s intelligent. He likes to think that, you know, when he’s around and when boys say, the master strategist, he starts to raise his shoulder like this and he start bouncing. Some buffoons must have told him that if you go close to Buhari, you’ll have some sympathy from northerners, start praising Buhari, some idiot must have told him that. And my poor friend seems to have believed it and he goes on that television and embarrasses himself before northerner.” Read_More…
