Hauwa Saliu, one of the 308 kidnap victims rescued by security operatives from Boko Haram terrorists, has spoken about the difficult conditions she experienced while in captivity.

In a video from 0:26 shared by TVC, Hauwa said she was very happy to return home. She stated that while in captivity she and the other victims ate only once a day and that salt was the only seasoning used in their stew.

Hauwa said the terrorists killed two cows for her and the other captives at the end of every month. She explained that on the days the cows were killed, they were not given their usual food but were instead given the cow meat with salt.

She added that she was grateful to President Bola Tinubu and everyone who contributed to their rescue.

In Hauwa’s words: “We used to eat once a day, it is only salt that they used to put into our stew. They used to kill two cows for us every month end. That very day that they kill that cow they would not give us food, it is the cow meat that they would give us with salt”
