In a recent video posted on Facebook on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, the Leader of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, warned about possible conflicts among emerging political support groups connected to Nigeria’s major political movements.

The cleric made the remarks while discussing the activities of groups commonly known as “City Boys” and “Village Boys,” which have recently gained attention in political discussions as mobilization platforms for different interests ahead of upcoming elections.

Ayodele predicted that rivalry between the two camps could lead to disagreements and frequent clashes among their members. According to him, the competition for influence and recognition may create tension that could spill over into wider political circles.

“There is a group called City Boys and Village Boys. The City Boys and the Village Boys are going to fight a lot, and many crises will arise between them,” he said.

Despite their growing visibility, Ayodele questioned the long-term significance of the groups, suggesting that they may not have a lasting impact on the country’s political development. He argued that such movements often generate excitement and rivalry but fail to produce meaningful political progress.

The prophet further stated that many individuals who join these platforms may be driven more by personal benefits than by a commitment to strengthening democratic institutions.

According to him, when political support groups focus primarily on personal gain or competition rather than national development, they risk wasting valuable time and resources.

Ayodele concluded by cautioning political actors to be mindful of how such groups operate, urging them to promote unity and constructive participation rather than encouraging divisions that could lead to avoidable conflicts within the political space. Find Out More
