Dan Nwanyanwu, a Nigerian lawyer and former national chairman for the Labour Party (LP), has shared his perspectives regarding the jail sentence of Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

Recall that Justice James Omotosho of the Federal High Court has sentenced Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), to life imprisonment over alleged terrorism charges.

However, in the video from 5:11, Dan Nwanyanwu, a Nigerian lawyer and former national chairman for the Labour Party (LP), stated that the federal government could sentence the IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu, to jail, but bandits are being negotiated with.

He recalled how Sheikh Gumi, an Islamic cleric, has called for better welfare of the bandits, demanding salaries for them as well as their inclusion in the country’s budget.

According to the video, “Didn’t the government know all the stupid utterances Gumi has been making? He said we should put them (bandits) in our budget, we should pacify them and pay them salaries, and there is no way he can stop.”
