Pete Hegseth, the United States Secretary of War has taken to his official X handle to react after the United States military carried out deadly airstrikes on terrorist enclaves in Sokoto State on thursday night. According to the statements which were shared on his official X handle, he pointed out that they were always ready to take out terror groups.
The news regarding the deadly airstrikes conducted by the United States military on terrorist enclaves in Sokoto State on thursday night, December 25th 2025, generated mixed reactions after the reports went viral across various social media platforms.
The attack, which took many unawares, occurred shortly after the United States delegation led by Congressman Riley Moore paid a courtesy visit to the country on a fact finding mission. This, culminated in the gathering of intelligence information.
According to the statements which were shared on his official X handle, the United States secretary of war, Pete Hegseth pointed out that their mission was clear, the annihilation of innocent Christians in Nigeria and anywhere must end.
He further pointed out that the United States department of war was always ready and capable to take out terrorists, just as the terrorists in Sokoto State found out on Christmas night.
He also expressed his gratitude to the Nigerian authorities for the support and cooperation.
