Nigeria’s Minister of Defence, Retired General Christopher Musa, has revealed that the military recently arrested several individuals caught supplying food and fuel to terrorists and funding their operations through bank transfers.

Speaking in an interview from 22:32 with News Central TV, General Musa said, “Just a few days ago, we arrested a number of people who were buying food and fuel on motorcycles to supply to the terrorists, and funding them through their bank accounts. Without that support, these people cannot survive.”

The Minister also called on state governments to take more responsibility in the fight against insecurity, stating that the burden cannot rest on the federal government alone. “We cannot continue blaming the federal government alone. We are calling on the states to also be proactive.”

General Musa stressed that state governments must empower local government councils to function effectively, arguing that active local governance is critical to detecting and disrupting criminal networks at the grassroots level.
