In a recent Bible study session, Pastor W.F. Kumuyi, General Superintendent of the Deeper Christian Life Ministry, delivered a sermon titled “The Scripture-Based Impartiality of Brethren in Christ.”
Addressing the congregation, Pastor Kumuyi emphasized the need for patience, sincerity, and impartiality among Christians and also heavily condemned swearing.
Pastor Kumuyi cautioned against the act of swearing, particularly by invoking heaven, suggesting that those who swear often tell lies. “We must not swear, it is not right,” he stated, referencing. Those who say ‘I swear by heaven ‘ tell a lot of lies. A believer must not have the habit of swearing, don’t support anyone to swear either.”
In a recent video from 1 hour 35 minutes in a sermon he stated “A real child of God should just affirm the truth and move on because those who swear usually tell a lot of lies and want you to believe them. Our Yes must be Yes, and our No must be No.” He urged believers to abandon the habit of swearing and to discourage others from doing so.
Further elaborating on the theme of impartiality, he emphasized the importance of treating all individuals fairly, without favoritism or prejudice based on their social or economic status. “Everything we do in evaluating the lives of people we must do in righteousness,” he asserted. “To have respect of persons is not good in any area. We should not go by tribe.”
Pastor Kumuyi also highlighted the responsibility of believers to support each other in truth and righteousness, warning against covering up the wrongdoings of others for personal gain or advantage. He urged the congregation to avoid being influenced by murmurers and complainers who walk after their own lusts.
