First Lady Oluremi Tinubu has stated that the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) reportedly confirmed that last Christmas was the first in several years without any attacks on Christians across Nigeria.

She made the claim during an interview from 3:34 with CBN News, where she spoke on security improvements and national efforts to reduce violence.

According to her, CAN leadership described the season as the first peaceful Christmas in many years.

She said: “We thank President Trump for what he did for us in Sokoto State. I think it really helped. Even the current Christian Association of Nigeria president said last year Christmas was the first Christmas that no Christian was attacked,”

The First Lady noted that her public Christian faith as wife of a Muslim president has attracted criticism but insisted Nigeria remains a secular state where religious freedom is protected.
