Legal practitioner Nnadiume Awfokansi has said that the focus of political attacks appears to be on former Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi while arguing that recent developments within opposition parties have continued to revolve around his political influence.

Speaking during an interview from 31:34 on Signature TV, Awfokansi maintained that the level of public attention surrounding Peter Obi has remained unmatched despite his movement across different political platforms and insisted that the reactions of political parties demonstrate the significance of his presence in the nation’s political landscape.

“The only person they are targeting is Peter Obi. Atiku is in ADC. Since Peter Obi left ADC, nobody has been interested in ADC anymore. Since Peter Obi left the Labour Party, the Labour Party has been begging Peter Obi to come and take their forms for expression of interest.”

He further stated that political parties seeking to strengthen their chances ahead of future elections should focus on presenting credible policies and engaging Nigerians on issues affecting governance rather than allowing debates to be dominated by personalities alone while noting that healthy political competition should encourage constructive engagement and democratic participation.
