In a recent video on TVC from 47 seconds, Emenike Ebete has taken legal action against the dissolution of elected officials within APC, arguing that the process was undemocratic and fraudulent. The case stems from a decision by the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) to dissolve state party officials who had been elected to serve a four-year term in Rivers State.
Ebete, who represents a faction within the party, voiced his frustration over what he sees as a breach of trust and fairness. “We went to court to say these people were elected democratically. They bought forms, filled the forms, paid money, and you took their money and told them they were going to serve for four years. Then you came back after two years to say they should go. No, that was fraud in the first place. I said no,” Ebete stated emphatically.
Ebete, the party members who were removed from their positions had followed the due process, paying the required fees and participating in a legitimate election. The decision to dissolve their positions midway through their term has raised questions about the integrity of the party’s leadership and its commitment to democratic principles.
According to him, “We went to court to say these people were elected democratically. They bought forms, filled the forms, paid money, and you took their money and told them they were going to serve for four years. Then you came back after two years to say they should go. No, that was fraud in the first place. I said no.”
