Omar bin Laden is one of Osama’s children from his first marriage to Najwa Ghanem, who was also his first cousin. Omar was born into a wealthy Saudi Arabian family.
Omar quit Al Qaeda 21 years ago because he did not want to be connected to the murder of innocent people, and his father, Osama bin Laden, did not object to this choice. He had previously been involved with Al Qaeda for a period of time.
Omar married Zaina Mohamed Al Sabah, also known as Jane Felix Browne. She was his second wife, 24 years his senior, and a grandmother of five. The couple announced their divorce 14 years ago, in September, citing concerns for their freedom and lives due to threats from unidentified sources.
