A Former PDP National Chairman, Chief Bode George has urged the Edo Deputy Governor, Comrade Philip Shaibu to consider how his recent actions would be perceived in the future. He highlighted a moment where Shaibu begged Oshiomhole after joining the APC, he stated that such actions could tarnish his political legacy.

He expressed disappointment in Philip Shaibu’s recent actions following his unsuccessful bid for the governorship ticket. He argued that not getting the PDP governorship ticket should not be seen by Philip Shaibu as the end of his political career. He also cautioned him against allowing himself to be used to create instability in Edo State’s political landscape.

He said in an interview with Arise TV From 21:18, ”Shaibu must recognise that he joined the PDP voluntarily and the party accepted him. The governor accepted him and made him his deputy in the first place. So because you (Philip Shaibu) didn’t get the governorship ticket, that doesn’t mean it is the end of your life. Now you are now back in your office by a court order and you are holding meetings with APC members in Edo State.

You (Shaibu) knelt down begging Oshiomhole, how would you want to be remembered? And how would you want your children to read about your performances and your attitude while you were deputy governor in the future. Whatever you do today becomes history tomorrow. It’s so saddening that a young man in a structured party would allow his political career to go this way. Just because you didn’t get a ticket, then the roof just fall. So I’m pleading with the young man, Philip Shaibu, he should be very careful and he should not allow them to use him to cause chaos in Edo election.”….Seë_Morë
