In a recent interview from 22:47 on Channels TV, Ann-kio Briggs, a human rights activist and Rivers elder stateswoman, spoke on concerns about political influence and electoral interference in Nigeria, warning that the actions of powerful political actors could undermine democratic processes ahead of the 2027 elections.

During the interview, Briggs stated, “Wike has told Ireti Kingibe, who is representing the FCT, that she will not return as senator.” She made the remark while discussing what she described as increasing political pressure and interference in electoral outcomes involving key national figures.
