Lere Olayinka, the senior special adviser on media to the former governor of Rivers State and FCT minister, Nyesom Wike recently reacted after Tanimu Turaki, the chairman of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP kicked against the taking over of the PDP secretariat by the FCT minister’s camp. According to the statements which were shared on his official X handle, he pointed out that the comments from the chairman was unnecessary.
The news regarding the taking over the the PDP national secretariat by the camp of the former governor of Rivers State and FCT minister, Nyesom Wike generated mixed reactions after the reports surfaced online.
This came amid the controversies that trailed the leadership struggle within the party, with the faction led by Senator Tanimu Turaki laying claim to legitimacy.
However, the faction led by the former governor took control of the party after the national convention, a move which triggered massive public reactions.
Tanimu Turaki, the factional chairman of the party was not pleased with the development as in a recent statement, kicked against the actions of the former governor and his group.
