Commodore Abayomi Balogun, a former Nigerian Air Force fighter pilot and security analyst has defended the military after an airstrike annihilated over two hundred persons in Yobe State. According to his statements which were shared by AriseTv from 1:00, he pointed out that the incident was not deliberate, but a collateral damage.

The news regarding the death of over two hundred persons as a result of a failed military airstrike carried out on a popular market in Yobe State generated mixed reactions after the reports went viral across various social media platforms.

In a twist of events, the Nigerian Air Force in an attempt to carry out airstrikes on a terrorists hideout, mistakenly bombed the market, killing over two hundred innocent civilians, an act which triggered public outrage.

However, a retired military fighter pilot identified as Air Commodore Abayomi Balogun in a recent statement which was shared by AriseTv, defended the actions of the Nigerian Air Force.

According to his statements, he pointed out that no armed forces will deliberately attack its own citizens, maintaining that the incident was a mistake and should be treated as such.

He further pointed out that the attack, which led to the loss of over two hundred innocent lives was collateral damage, a phenomenon which always occurs during wars.
