Peter Obi, the former governor of Anambra State and ADC Chieftain has taken to his official X handle to react after President Tinubu made it known that Nigeria should take solace in being better off than Kenya and other African countries. According to the statements which were shared on his official X handle, he pointed out that the comments from the president downplayed the severity of the current realities.
Many were highly impressed after President Tinubu delivered a spectacular speech while addressing a mammoth crowd during his recent visit to Yenegoa, the capital city of Bayelsa State.
The president, in his statements which triggered massive public attention, pointed out that Nigeria should take solace in being better off than most African countries, particularly Kenya.
However, his comments did not sit well with the former governor of Anambra State and 2023 Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi who in a recent statement, slammed the antics of the president.
According to the statements which were shared on his official X handle on Monday April 13th, 2026 the former Anambra governor pointed out that by making such comments, president Tinubu downplayed the severity of the current economic realities.
The statements from the president, according to Peter Obi, can be likened to the biblical Pharaoh who out of ignorance, boasted about his achievements and superiority to mask his spiritual void.
