Bayo Onanuga, the senior special adviser on Information and Strategy has taken to his official X handle to react after renowned journalist, Oseni Rufai raised serious concerns over the reports of the payment of power sector debt by president Tinubu. According to the statements which were shared on his official X handle, he gave an explanation regarding the differences noticed.
Oseni Rufai, a popular media personality and AriseTV anchor recently caused a stir after he raised serious concerns over the recent announcement of the payment of power sector debt by president Tinubu.
It can be recalled that the senior special adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga in a viral post on his official X handle, announced that president Tinubu approved the payment of N3.3 trillion.
According to the renowned journalist, who shared a similar report from February 2024, the then minister for power, Adebayo Adelabu disclosed that a payment of N3.3 trillion was made to offset the debt owed by the power sector.
However, according to the recent statements which were shared on his official X handle, Bayo Onanuga, slammed the antics of Oseni Rufai, pointing out that he was only interested in spreading falsehood.
According to Bayo Onanuga, the reports that surfaced online had same headlines but different context. He maintained that the recent approval was the reality, and the effect will be felt soon.
