In a recent interview from 14:20 on The Morayo Show, Dele Momodu, a chieftain of the African Democratic Congress, spoke on political popularity, global exposure, and how international recognition influences perception in Nigerian politics.

During the interview, Momodu stated, “I have been to almost 100 countries in the world, so I am also a star.” He made the remark while discussing how political figures often highlight international experience and visibility as part of their public image.

Momodu explained that global travel and international exposure can shape how politicians are perceived by supporters, especially when such experiences are used to demonstrate competence, credibility, and leadership readiness. According to him, visibility on the global stage often translates into political influence at home, even though it does not always guarantee electoral success.

He referenced Peter Obi while discussing the role of international recognition in shaping political branding, noting that modern politics increasingly values global networks and public perception alongside grassroots support.
