Peoples Democratic Party chieftain Chief Dan Ulasi has alleged that the PDP is in a precarious position that is made even more complicated by the fact that its national leader, Nyesom Wike, is currently serving as a minister in President Bola Tinubu’s APC-led government.
Speaking from 8:34 on Arise TV, Ulasi said, “I would have left PDP before now, but each time I remember that I was standing behind Dr. Alex of blessed memory, and two other people behind him, and I think Abubakar was on the other side with his people, and the PDP was formed, each time I remember that, I find it difficult to think I should exit. The party is in what medical people will call the intensive care unit. I don’t know whether it will survive, because our national leader is the Minister of FCT,” he said.
Ulasi said the contradiction of Wike leading the PDP while serving in a rival government makes the party’s situation extremely difficult to read.
He acknowledged, however, that Wike has recently shown flashes of active party loyalty delivering a key senatorial victory in Rivers State and reportedly helping secure at least one other senatorial seat in Abuja.
