The National Co-ordinator of the Obidient Movement Nationwide, Yunusa Tanko has rhetorically asked if the Labour Party Presidential candidate, Mr Peter Obi was responsible for the killing of some Nigerians in Zamfara state by Bandits. He argued that even the bandits themselves have accused government officials of sponsoring them.
He highlighted how the government claimed to have increased civil servants’ salaries, only to follow it with a fuel price hike, which negated the salary increase before it even took effect. He again rhetorically asked if Peter Obi was responsible for this decision, emphasizing the government’s accountability. He highlighted the government’s tendency to blame the opposition for their failures, calling it an insult to Nigerians. He deemed this approach unacceptable and urged the government to take responsibility for their actions.
He said in an interview with Arise TV from 11:54, ‘How can you as a government say you have increased the salary of the civil servants and the next few days you Increased the fuel price. And the money has not even reached the pockets of the civil servant. Is Peter Obi responsible for that action? I’m just coming from Delta State, the road from Benin to the Eastern state is as dangerously bad as anything but yet you are budgeting money to build a road from Calabar to Lagos.
There is nothing wrong with building roads but is that the priority at the moment. Few days ago Nigerians were killed in Zamfara, was Peter Obi the Bandit that did that? Obviously no. Even the Bandits are coming out to say that it is some people in government that is sponsoring them. You cannot look at Nigerians and insult them in this level of magnitude by blaming the opposition for your failures and think you are playing politics. It is completely unacceptable.”….Rêad _ Next
