According to Fox Tv from 02:16 on Friday, 8th May 2026, Jesse Watters has revealed new details surrounding ongoing U.S. naval operations in the Middle East, including claims that American destroyers successfully moved through the Strait of Hormuz as part of an expanding international security effort in the region.
Speaking during a Fox News broadcast, Watters said President Donald Trump confirmed that three U.S. guided missile destroyers had completed a strategic transit through the critical waterway and were preparing to strengthen ongoing maritime enforcement operations.
“The president says the three destroyers successfully transited out of the Strait and will join the blockade,” Watters stated.
The comments came amid heightened tensions between Washington and Tehran following recent military confrontations involving Iranian vessels, drones and missile launches near the Gulf shipping corridor.
Watters also referenced a report published by The Wall Street Journal indicating that “Project Freedom,” a reported U.S.-led operational strategy connected to the Gulf crisis, remains active despite earlier diplomatic pauses.
“The Wall Street Journal is reporting that Project Freedom is still in play,” Watters said during the segment.
According to him, the initiative had been temporarily slowed due to ongoing negotiations with Iran as well as disagreements involving Saudi Arabian airspace access.
“It was paused for diplomatic reasons, to help the Iranian negotiations, and because of an airspace dispute with the Saudis. But it’s all patched up,” he added.
Watters further claimed that key Western allies were preparing to support maritime security operations around the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world’s most important oil transit routes.
