Former Lagos State Governor and Minister of Works Babatunde Fashola has accused opposition leaders of eyeing the presidency by offering Nigerians frustration without alternatives.

Speaking on TVC from 0:48, Fashola said, “There’s just not anything exciting on the other side. Those who want a change of government just want the president to go but what are you giving us instead? We’re not seeing those competing ideas to say this is how I would have done it differently. This is what I would have done instead,” he said.

Fashola said a genuine policy debate would give Nigerians the basis to make an informed choice between competing visions for the country. “That would have put us in a place to then say, look, this idea sounds much more compelling than the other one. So it’s not just okay to say things are not working. The question is how do you plan to make it even better?” he said.

Fashola also issued a direct warning to opposition figures banking on ethnic loyalty to deliver votes in 2027, arguing that no Nigerian opposition leader should assume that tribal sentiment alone will be enough to sway the electorate when the time comes to make a decision at the polls….See More
