A Former Airforce Spokesperson, Captain Sadeeq Shehu has alleged that the former Bosses of the NIA and DSS, Ahmed Rufai and Yusuf Bichi were brought back to the lead the agencies by former President Muhammadu Buhari after they had previously served for 35 years in their agencies.

He highlighted the internal rancor and disillusionment within the agencies particularly among top officials who felt bypassed by the external appointments. He noted that this sentiment is understandable, given the aspirations of long-serving personnel who had hoped to ascend to leadership positions. He commended President Tinubu’s decision for appointing new heads to the two security agencies.

He said in an interview with Arise TV From 6:26, ”We have to look at how these people emerged. As somebody who is conversant with the talks around the security circle. We have to commend this appointment by the President. I’m always an advocate for following the procedure of allowing people who grew through their agencies to eventually take the leadership of that agency. Rufai and Bichi have already served their 35 years in service before Buhari brought them back to come and take over from the NIA And DSS Agencies.

Whether we admit it or not, there was a lot of rancour within the two agencies regarding this appointments. And some of the top officials in the agencies were angry with the fact that these two were brought from outside after serving their term before coming to the agency. Whereas there are people who have been in those agencies for so many years and they have the plan to rise to the highest rank. So when you bring people from outside to come and take over agencies, it brings a lot of disillusionment from the people in the agency.”….VïêwMôrê
