In a recent interview from 15:58 on Trust TV, former Executive Secretary of the National Health Insurance Scheme, Usman Yusuf, spoke on governance, political accountability, and voter expectations ahead of the 2027 general elections.
During the interview, Yusuf stated, “Kwankwaso: What have you done for Kano in the last four years? You keep them and say, ‘You are mine.’” He made the remark while responding to questions on the political influence of former Kano State Governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso and his relevance in shaping voter sentiment in Kano State.
He questioned the basis of political loyalty in the state, arguing that voters are increasingly demanding accountability and measurable development from political leaders rather than emotional or personal affiliations.
