Benue State Commissioner of Police, Cletus Nwadiogbu, has vowed that security forces will not allow suspected terrorists to continue infiltrating communities in Benue State, as joint operations intensify in areas affected by recurring attacks.
Speaking during an interview from 1:37 on AIT News on Wednesday, 22 July, 2026, while leading a joint security operation in the terrorist frontline in Logo Local Government Area of Benue State, Nwadiogbu said security personnel remained engaged in efforts to push armed groups away from vulnerable communities. He noted that the sound of gunfire in the area shows the proximity of the suspected attackers and the ongoing nature of the operation.
Expressing the determination of the security agencies, the commissioner said, “We won’t allow them to continue coming in here. You can hear them firing now.”
Nwadiogbu explained that the joint operation was launched to prevent further incursions by armed groups and reassure residents that security agencies are actively working to restore peace. He said the presence of security personnel in the frontline has increased pressure on the suspected terrorists and limited their ability to move freely within the affected communities.
The commissioner added that officers from different security agencies are working together to secure the area, track the movements of the armed groups and prevent further attacks on residents.
