Nafiu Bala, who is contesting the leadership of the ADC against the group led by David Mark, has called on older political leaders to step aside and allow younger people to take part in shaping Nigeria’s future.
Speaking during an interview from 1:37 on AIT News, Bala argued that many of the country’s long-standing politicians have spent decades moving between major parties like the PDP and APC without bringing lasting improvement. He said these leaders have already had enough time in power and should give others a chance.
Bala expressed concern that the same set of politicians still want to remain in control despite the country’s challenges. According to him, they are part of the reason Nigeria is struggling today, and it is unfair for them to present themselves as the solution.
He urged figures like Atiku Abubakar, Nasir El-Rufai, and David Mark to encourage their children and younger Nigerians to get involved in politics instead of holding on to power. He believes this would create room for fresh ideas and new leadership.
Bala also said he is confident about challenging the current leadership within the party. He described this moment as an important opportunity to fix the country by bringing in new voices and direction.
