According to a video from 18:05 posted on the official YouTube channel of Arise News on Sunday, May 10, 2026, ADC Chieftain, Ladan Salihu, stated that the departure of key political figures from the African Democratic Congress would not weaken the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Speaking during a live political programme, Salihu reacted to the recent exit of former Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, and former Kano State governor, Rabiu Kwankwaso, from the ADC coalition arrangement.

While addressing concerns about the impact of their departure on the opposition movement, Salihu maintained that the ADC remained strong and politically stable across the country. According to him, “The exit of Obi and Kwankwaso will not hurt the party. They came in and left as individuals with a few people.”

He argued that many supporters who initially identified with the coalition platform were still loyal to the ADC despite the movement of some political leaders to other parties. Salihu also expressed confidence that the party would continue to attract new members and strengthen its grassroots structure nationwide.
