A political figure, Umar Ardo, has said that Atiku Abubakar would likely win the presidential primary of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) if he decides to contest.

According a report by Daily Post on Friday, March 27, 2027, speaking during a programme, Ardo explained that although some politicians talk about choosing one candidate by agreement, it would be difficult to achieve. He noted that such an arrangement would require strong contenders like Peter Obi and Rotimi Amaechi to step down for one person.

Ardo said Obi may personally be willing to step aside for another candidate, but his supporters, widely known as the Obidient Movement, would strongly resist such a move. According to him, this support base plays a major role in Obi’s political strength, making it hard for him to withdraw from the race.

He added that if all the major contenders decide to go ahead and contest the primary election instead of agreeing on one candidate, Atiku would emerge as the winner. Ardo expressed strong confidence that Atiku would win regardless of the method used, whether through delegates or direct voting by party members.

In his words, “Peter Obi has the disposition to step down but the Obidient Movement would not allow that to happen and without the Obidients, Obi is nothing.” Read_More…
