Victoria Aondoakura, a resident of Anyiase community, has spoken about the difficult humanitarian conditions facing people in her area, describing widespread hunger, inadequate healthcare, and the burden of caring for orphaned children amid the ongoing hardship.
Speaking during an interview from 1:13 on News Central TV, on Wednesday, 8 July, 2026, Aondoakura painted a grim picture of daily life in the community, saying many families are struggling to survive with little or no access to basic necessities.
She appealed for urgent intervention from government authorities, humanitarian organisations, and well-meaning Nigerians to provide food, medical care, and other essential support for vulnerable residents.
Explaining the extent of the crisis, she said: “We are going through so much. We have no food. Look at this child I’m carrying. His mother is no longer alive. I found him, took him in, and have been doing my best to care for him. We do not even have access to a proper hospital.”
Her remarks highlight the challenges confronting many residents, particularly women and children who have been displaced or affected by insecurity and limited access to social services.
