Former Governor Rotimi Amaechi has stated that when he was a minister, Bola Tinubu used to claim that he made Muhammadu Buhari president.
In an interview from 3:52 with Arise TV, Amaechi said the reason he did not oppose Tinubu’s claim at the time was because he did not want Buhari to sack him as minister.
Amaechi stated that he personally played a major role in Buhari’s presidential election victory as the Director-General of Buhari’s campaign. He said he travelled from state to state across Nigeria, convincing people to vote for Buhari during the presidential campaign.
In Amaechi’s words: “While I was a minister President Tinubu was claiming he made Buhari president and I could not respond because I was a minister under President Buhari, that would be suicidal because Buhari could fire you.
