Former Governor Rotimi Amaechi has stated that he believes former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and former Anambra State Governor Peter Obi would perform better as Nigerian president than President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
In an interview from 22:40 with Trust TV on Monday, May 18, 2026, Amaechi said if Atiku is given the opportunity to govern Nigeria, he believes the former vice president would do well in office and not be tribalistic.
Amaechi also stated that Peter Obi would perform well if given the chance to lead the country. He said both Obi and Atiku have qualities that, in his opinion, would make them govern Nigeria well.
