According to a report by Daily Post on Sunday, May 17, 2026, National Chairman of the Peoples Redemption Party, Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, has stated that efforts will be made to ensure the removal of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu from office in the next general election cycle.

He made the remarks during an interview on a political programme aired on Channels Television, where he discussed the current state of governance and the political outlook ahead of future elections in Nigeria.

During the interview, Baba-Ahmed expressed strong criticism of the present administration, stating that he considers the leadership direction of the country to be harmful to its future development.

He argued that the current political and economic situation under the administration has not produced the level of improvement expected by many citizens.

According to him, there is widespread dissatisfaction among Nigerians over issues related to governance, security and economic conditions.

He further stated that it is possible for the ruling All Progressives Congress to be defeated in the next general elections if opposition forces are able to organise effectively.

He expressed confidence that electoral outcomes can shift depending on how political parties position themselves and respond to public sentiment across the country.

The PRP chairman also made remarks about the current state of national security and economic pressure facing citizens.

He stated that many Nigerians are experiencing hardship and uncertainty, particularly in relation to rising insecurity and economic challenges.

According to him, these conditions have contributed to growing public dissatisfaction.

He added that the concerns of citizens should be taken seriously by political leaders as they reflect broader issues affecting daily life across different regions.

Baba-Ahmed further commented on governance communication, suggesting that leaders may not always be receiving accurate feedback about the situation in the country.

He stated that it is possible for those in authority to be unaware of the full extent of public frustration if information is not properly conveyed.

He suggested that political competition plays a key role in shaping national direction and policy decisions.
