According to a video from 13:13 posted on the official YouTube channel of Channels Television on Monday, June 1, 2026, ADC Chieftain, Ladan Salihu, highlighted the past security contributions of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar as part of his assessment of national security challenges in Nigeria.

He recalled Atiku’s involvement in community-based security operations during periods of heightened insurgency in parts of the North-East, where local responses were coordinated with formal security agencies.

“Atiku Abubakar organized local vigilantes in collaboration with the police and the army and provided 40 Hilux vehicles.”

Salihu suggested that such initiatives demonstrate Atiku’s practical experience in handling security-related crises and his familiarity with grassroots coordination in volatile regions.
