One of the chieftains of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and founder of Ovation Magazine, Dele Momodu has reacted after watching a video of Nigerian musician, Portable Saying that he is too rich to be engaging in a protest.

In the video that Dele Momodu shared on his official X handle on Saturday, the musician said rich men don’t protest that is why it is very hard to see people like Aliko Dangote, Femi Otedola and many others on the streets protesting. He said he joined a protest in 2020 because he was poor then, but now that he is rich, he can’t protest anymore.

Here is what Portable said in the video;

“They said I led protest in 2020. That was then. I was thinking like a poor man then but now that I am rich, I think like a rich man. Have you ever seen Otedola protesting in Nigeria or have you ever seen Dangote carrying placards protesting. You can’t see people like Dele Momodu protesting. I protested before because I was poor but now that I am rich, I can’t”.

Reacting to the statement, Dele Momodu said the musician has claimed that he is too rich to be protesting.

Here is what Dele Momodu wrote on his page;

“I’m in stitches laughing over Portable’s video on the planned protest. The greatly talented and very popular artist says he is now too rich to be protesting”….Seë_Morë
