Former Anambra State governor and 2023 presidential candidate, Peter Obi has recounted his humanitarian involvement during his time in office, including a relief mission to Haiti following the devastating earthquake that struck the Caribbean nation in 2010.

Obi made the disclosure during an interview from 16:40 on News Central TV, where he reflected on his experiences in public service and international humanitarian engagement while serving as governor of Anambra State.

According to him, the mission to Haiti was undertaken after he received presidential approval from then President Goodluck Jonathan. “As a governor, I went to President Jonathan and said I want to go to Haiti. He asked me, ‘what are you going to Haiti to do?’ and I said I’m going to Haiti because they had an earthquake which killed so many people.
