According to a video from 3:46 posted on News Central TV on Thursday, May 14, 2026, Veteran Journalist and ADC Chieftain, Dele Momodu, shared his views on the growing debate over zoning and opposition strategy ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

Speaking during the interview, Momodu argued that political parties must focus more on winning power than on emotional arguments surrounding regional rotation. He explained that zoning is not part of the Nigerian Constitution but mainly an internal arrangement among political parties.

While discussing the chances of opposition candidates in 2027, Momodu stated, “What I know from studying the 2023 general election is that it will be almost impossible for a Southerner to defeat Tinubu.” He maintained that electoral numbers and political structure remain major factors in determining victory in Nigeria’s presidential elections.

The ADC chieftain also said opposition parties should concentrate on presenting competent and experienced candidates capable of challenging President Bola Tinubu successfully.
