Former Senate Minority Leader, Enyinnaya Abaribe has spoken about the issue of banditry in Nigeria and highlighted a statement made by the Sultan of Sokoto.

Speaking in a video shared by Channels TV from 25:35, Senator Abaribe said the Sultan, who is of Fulani descent, had previously stated that 90 percent of bandits in Nigeria were Fulani.

Abaribe also expressed frustration about cattle roaming freely in Abia State, causing damage to local farms. He argued that there is no valid reason for people to bring their cattle into Abia State and let them graze on farmlands, disrupting agriculture and livelihoods

According to Senator Abaribe: “Don’t forget that the question of banditry, the Sultan of Sokoto himself had one time, when Buhari was president, said that 90 percent of all this bandits were Fulanis, he said it. It wasn’t me that said it. So it is not like we don’t know. There is no earthly reason why somebody will come to Abia State and let his cattle graze in our farms”….Seë_Morë
