Precious Oruche, popularly known as Mama P, has voiced strong frustration over the rising cost of mobile data in Nigeria, accusing telecommunications providers of placing an unbearable financial burden on citizens.

Speaking during a protest highlighted in an interview from 0:18 on TV Platinum, Mama P lamented the frequency and scale of her data expenses, describing the situation as unsustainable for ordinary Nigerians who rely heavily on internet access for daily activities and business.

Expressing her dissatisfaction, she said, “How do I pay for data N11,000 every 2 days. That’s like 24 hours. I have receipts I just showed everybody now.” The statement underscored her claim that the cost of staying connected has skyrocketed to levels that many users can no longer afford, sparking outrage among protesters who echoed similar concerns.

The protest, which targeted telecommunications giant MTN Nigeria, reflects growing public anger over data pricing and service value. Demonstrators argued that despite high costs, service quality has not significantly improved, leaving customers feeling exploited. Mama P insisted that her receipts serve as evidence of the financial strain imposed by the current pricing structure.
