Arewa Youth President DanBature Abdul Hamid has accused governors in Northern Nigeria of betraying President Bola Tinubu, alleging that they have received additional financial support from the presidency but have failed to deliver adequate governance to their people.
Speaking on TVC from 12:27, DanBature said some governors had not visited certain local government areas in their states since assuming office, despite receiving funds beyond their regular state allocations.
He questioned how the governors were using the additional money reportedly released directly to them by the president.
DanBature also warned that the governors’ alleged failure to address the needs of their constituents could have political consequences for Tinubu, arguing that public dissatisfaction with state governments could eventually affect the president’s standing.
He said, “The Northern governors are betraying the president. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu should not depend on them. We have governors who, ever since they were sworn into office, have not visited some of the local governments in their own states and the president has been giving them huge amounts of money in the North. And let me say it here: the president has been releasing money aside from the state allocation directly to our governors. What are they doing with it?”
