Primate Elijah Ayodele, Leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, has identified several states where he said President Bola Ahmed Tinubu could face challenges during the 2027 presidential election.
In a report by DAILY POST on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, Ayodele said the President would need to strengthen his support across several parts of the country rather than assume an easy contest.
He specifically mentioned Lagos, Oyo and Osun in the South-West, saying Tinubu should pay attention to the states despite his political ties to the region. He also listed Kaduna, Kano, Sokoto, Niger, Bayelsa, Imo, Enugu, Delta, Benue and the Federal Capital Territory as areas where he described the political situation as uncertain.
Ayodele urged the President to work on the areas he identified and take steps to consolidate his support before the election.
Assessing the challenges he believes Tinubu could encounter, Ayodele said, “The election will be a very tough one for him. He needs to work on Kaduna, Kano, Sokoto, Niger, Bayelsa, Imo, Enugu, Delta, Benue and Abuja; all these states are still shaking. It may not be easy for the president in these places. He must work very hard and perfect all that is needed.”
