According to a video from 02:56 posted on Trust TV on Thursday 6, 2026, a resident of the Randagi community described the death of a local farmer, a man with four wives and twenty children, who was reportedly killed shortly after returning home from his farm during a security operation that turned deadly.
The resident said the killing had no justification and left the family and wider community devastated.
The report explains that the operation began on July 20, 2026, at a local gold processing site, when a team of security personnel arrived and was initially believed to be conducting a routine check.
Laborers on site were scattered, and community leaders who asked about the purpose of the operation were told it was authorized and could not be stopped.
Truckloads of mining materials were taken, and when residents gathered peacefully to seek an explanation, the situation reportedly escalated into gunfire that left multiple people dead and injured.
In the resident’s words, the resident said, “People have been killed and there is one person that he has four wives 20 children he has been killed for nothing he just come back back from farm they they kill him so this thing is very bad.”
Residents say they later gathered the dead and injured to carry them to the local government headquarters but were blocked on the way.
The community also alleges some survivors were pressured to alter their accounts of what happened, claims that have not been independently verified.
Community members are now calling on the Inspector General of Police and the Chief of Army Staff to open an independent investigation, saying they are seeking justice and accountability, not revenge.
Authorities had not responded publicly at the time of this report.
